VinFast - a brand of Vingroup Corporation is currently in the top 10 electric motorbike manufacturers in the world, and is leading the domestic market in 2024 with nearly 71,000 vehicles sold. Although official figures for the first half of 2025 have not been announced, sources from VnExpress said that the company's sales are expected to exceed 100,000 vehicles.
One notable point is that the electric motorbike segment that does not require a driver’s license recorded the strongest growth, reaching 112%. These models have affordable prices, suitable for the needs of students and housewives.
Analysts say policies to limit or ban gasoline-powered motorbikes in some areas of Hanoi , along with the possibility of Ho Chi Minh City applying similar measures, will be a driving force to further develop the electric motorbike market.
Currently, Honda and Yamaha only have one electric motorbike model and sales are still modest, opening up great opportunities for domestic brands and new businesses to enter the market.
