Hanoi City requires departments, branches and localities to strengthen inspection and supervision of food safety and hygiene in and around schools, especially strictly controlling collective kitchens and street food.
The Department of Health presides over surprise inspections, coordinates with the Department of Education and Training to guide educational institutions to comply with regulations, and at the same time clarify responsibilities if violations occur.
The city also promotes propaganda and raises public awareness to prevent food poisoning, ensure health and a safe and healthy school environment.
