Audiences enjoy and look forward to new episodes every day of the series Stories of Hits produced by musician Nguyen Van Chung, broadcast on TikTok channel.
First time revealing the story behind each hit
This is the first time Nguyen Van Chung shares interesting stories behind each of his compositions.
The male musician told Tuoi Tre Online : "I came up with the idea of making the series of programs Stories of Hits from the audience's questions about the composition of hit songs during livestreams.
In addition to answering questions from the audience, this program also recalls old memories and wants to thank the singers I have worked with.
This is also a preparation step for me to make long-term podcasts in the future."
Initially, Nguyen Van Chung planned to make 20 episodes, introducing 20 hits. However, the audience remembered many other songs so he decided to increase the number of episodes to 40.
"I have filmed 40 episodes, but many viewers still request new songs. I plan to film 60 episodes or until the viewers stop requesting it.
Making this program reminds me of the feelings I had when I wrote the song, sent it to the singer, or when the song was received by the audience" - the author of the song Mother's Diary shared.
To date, the show has aired 14 episodes. Each episode has tens to hundreds of thousands of viewers, with thousands of comments. Nguyen Van Chung answers most of the audience's questions.
Composing is a wonderful job, it brings me a lot of emotions and interesting experiences. It is fun, joyful, surprising, sometimes disappointing, but it helps me gain more knowledge about life.

He said that "Crying Moon" was one of the first four songs to be exclusively purchased along with "Love Moonlight Night", "Glass Dream" and "Carrying Love" for 2 million VND/song at that time.
" Crying Moon" has a special and most distinctive intro for identification, arranged by musician Minh Khang.
This is the only song in the singing career of Nhat Tinh Anh and Khanh Ngoc that the audience asked to sing three times in one show; it is one of the songs used to "push the boat" and "pair up" in karaoke bars" - musician Nguyen Van Chung said.
In addition, this song was used by Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, and China, with rewritten lyrics and even filmed as an MV, causing Nguyen Van Chung to be misunderstood as plagiarizing foreign music.
However, the Vietnam Center for Music Copyright Protection supported the lawsuit in Singapore, confirmed the time of composition of the first version, Nguyen Van Chung was "exonerated" and identified as the official owner.

At the end of 2021, China contacted to buy the copyright and translate four famous hits by musician Nguyen Van Chung including: Crying Moon, Warm Wind Scarf, Flying Between the Galaxy and Love Moonlight Night.
The song Mother's Diary was purchased by Japan and Germany for release in these markets.
"Up to this point, the song I feel most proud and satisfied with is still Mother's Diary . This is the first song I did not sell exclusively to a singer, but asked Hien Thuc to sing.
After two years of asking, I had the chance to meet Hien Thuc at the recording studio. When I let Thuc listen to the demo of Mother's Diary , she decided to record it the next day" - the male musician shared.
When mentioning Warm Wind Scarf, people will immediately think of Khanh Phuong - the person who successfully performed this song.
Nguyen Van Chung said that this song was embezzled a lot of money for ringtones when the ringtone service was first launched. When discovered, this person only paid a symbolic 30 million.
"After the loss in my family (the musician's mother passed away - PV), I don't have enough spirit to do anything for my career, but I will continue composing and making music for a while longer, regain my spirit and then think about what to do next" - the musician confided.
