Commending 53 individuals and groups for effectively implementing the Intergenerational Self-Help Club model

According to the President of the Provincial Association of the Elderly, Nguyen Thi Kim Lien, the LTHTGN Club is a voluntary social organization in the community. The special feature of this type of club compared to other models implemented by the Association of the Elderly is that instead of just gathering and being a place for the elderly to participate, each LTHTGN Club gathers many ages, with philanthropists and poor, near-poor households, and families in difficult circumstances participating together.

The LTHTGN Club model has been implemented nationwide by the Association of the Elderly since 2016. In Dong Nai, there are 205 LTHTGN Clubs in operation with over 11,000 members. Of which, over 7,700 are elderly and over 3,300 are young people. Each year, 19-34 new LTHTGN Clubs are established...

In order for this model to continue to develop, according to Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Lien, in the coming time, the Association of the Elderly at all levels and the Executive Board of each LTHTGN Club will proactively expand the scope of activities, connect with other units and social organizations to proactively choose the form of activities suitable to the actual situation of members and localities. In addition, the Provincial Association of the Elderly hopes that related units will continue to coordinate and create conditions for the LTHTGN Clubs to strengthen their executive boards and effectively implement the set goals.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Association of the Elderly awarded certificates of merit to 3 individuals and groups, and the Provincial Association of the Elderly honored 50 individuals and groups for effectively implementing the LTHTGN Club model in Dong Nai.
