
The summer camp had the participation of nearly 1,600 students and over 600 staff and teachers from 33 specialized and non-specialized high schools from 17 provinces and cities across the country.
The summer camp included many activities such as: Olympic competitions in 11 cultural subjects; seminars for managers, professional activities for teachers; experiential activities, cultural and sports exchanges, tours, and study tours for managers, teachers, and students of member schools. This was also the first time the Robotics competition was held with the participation of 120 students from 24 teams from 20 schools.

Participating in the summer camp, Lao Cai delegation had 60 students competing in cultural subjects. As a result, Lao Cai High School delegation won 57 medals of all kinds, including: 9 Gold Medals, 26 Silver Medals and 22 Bronze Medals. Of which, 9 Gold Medals were awarded for the subjects: Physics (3), Chemistry (2), Informatics (2), Biology (1) and History (1). With this achievement, the school ranked 6th out of 33 participating units.

Hung Vuong Summer Camp was first held in August 2005 at Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted (Phu Tho). This is an annual activity to create a useful playground, contributing to promoting training and fostering key education , spreading the spirit of innovation and creativity, promoting the emulation movement of good teaching and good learning among schools.
