Childhood bride and groom game with child's journey to adulthood

The young man surnamed Zheng and his wife just held a wedding in Chaozhou city (Guangdong province, China) on January 7.

What made netizens excited was that 20 years ago, the couple was assigned by their teacher to play the roles of bride and groom in a play. Two children from another class posed like newlyweds on stage.

Zheng wore a suit and the little girl a gorgeous wedding dress. Both wore heavy makeup. Meanwhile, several children danced and performed around as bridesmaids and groomsmen. In one photo, the bride and groom hold hands on stage.

After graduating from kindergarten, Zheng and his girlfriend attended different elementary, middle, and high schools. Their lives took different paths. It wasn't until 2022 that Zheng happened to watch a video of an old performance in his class group.

Zheng's mother, who happened to see the video, suggested that he look for the girl and see if he could "rekindle their old friendship." With the help of her kindergarten teacher, Zheng was able to contact his childhood friend.

The reunion helped them develop feelings for each other while they were both still single. Zheng said both he and his girlfriend regret not meeting each other sooner.

Zheng and his wife got married after three years of dating. At their wedding, the couple recreated the fateful moment 20 years ago.

"We are each other's special destiny and now we are a family," said groom Zheng.

The Chinese internet community has been captivated by the Zheng couple's fateful love story. On one social media platform, their story has attracted 76 million views.

"The couple knew each other since kindergarten, grew up and became husband and wife, life is beautiful. They should give their teacher a lucky money envelope with a large amount of money," one person joked.

Extracurricular activities at kindergartens often attract the attention of Chinese netizens.

In 2023, a kindergarten in Jiangsu Province caused a stir on social media when it held a wedding for two pet rabbits. The students were invited to the party as guests.

The children enjoyed the wedding party and received gifts, just like guests at a normal wedding.
