Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên18/02/2025

The launch was attended by Mr. Dinh Tri Dung, Director of MAAC Academy of Cinematography & Animation, Chairman of VAVA Association; Mr. Thierry Nguyen, Founder of AIOI Studios, Vice Chairman of VAVA Association; Mr. Doan Tran Anh Tuan, Co-founder of Colory Animation, Vice Chairman of VAVA; Mr. Mickael Marin, CEO of Annecy Animation Film Festival (representing Annecy).

In recent years, Vietnam and France have had many cooperations and professional exchanges in the field of special effects - animation. On that basis, the establishment of VAVA marks an important milestone in promoting the development of post-production in film production in Vietnam; protecting the rights of studios and individuals in the industry; and being a bridge in connecting the working environment in the industry in Vietnam with abroad.

Mr. Dinh Tri Dung, Chairman of VAVA Association, spoke at the event.

Mr. Dinh Tri Dung shared that the Vietnamese animation and special effects industry has achieved remarkable achievements not only domestically but also in foreign markets. He acknowledged that in the next few years, many "homegrown" animation projects will be shown to serve the audience.

Thanks to the development of globalization and young human resources, the demand for high-quality digital content is increasing, many studios in Vietnam have had the opportunity to cooperate with international partners. In addition to outsourcing projects, many Vietnamese studios have proactively participated in major Hollywood projects, from which many young employees have the opportunity to improve their skills and enter the international labor market.

Mr. Thierry Nguyen acknowledged that one of the biggest difficulties facing this creative industry is that creative artists themselves have to learn by themselves, and many employees do not have the opportunity to be trained directly at studios, leading to a lack of uniformity in the labor picture.

Following the event was a screening of six award-winning short animations from the 2024 Annecy International Animation Festival (France): Une guitare à la mer (Guitar on the river), Frite sans maillot (Forget your pants but not your lifebuoy), La boulangerie de Boris (Boris's bakery), Wing it (Just do it), Tête en l'air (Wandering in the clouds) and Lenços dos namorados (Handkerchiefs of love).
