Politburo member, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia attended and cut the ribbon to open the exhibition.

In his opening speech, Director of the Ho Chi Minh Museum Vu Manh Ha emphasized: This exhibition is a special and meaningful artistic activity. For the first time, a large-scale lacquer painting series with 17 elaborately composed works, vividly recreating historical stages, glorious victories of the nation and unique images of beloved President Ho Chi Minh, created by a young artist, has been introduced to a wide audience nationwide.

The largest painting in this exhibition is 7.2 meters long and 2.4 meters high, painted on both sides. One side is titled “Uncle Ho reading the Declaration of Independence”, recreating Ba Dinh Square on September 2, 1945; the other side is “National Spring”, with the image of people across the country joyfully celebrating independence and freedom. Through the artist’s visual language, the lacquer painting exhibition “Independence Spring” expresses love for the homeland and infinite gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh and many generations of soldiers and compatriots for the independence and freedom of the nation.

In 2019, when he returned from abroad, he immediately started sketching, searching and collecting documents.

Painter Luong Xuan Doan - Chairman of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association said that in the exhibition "Independence Spring", painter Chu Nhat Quang painted a number of pictures of Uncle Ho, this was a huge difficulty that he chose to face.
