On November 24, in Hanoi, the Central External Relations Commission held a Conference to Disseminate and Guide the Implementation of the Overall Project No. 01-DA/TW of the Secretariat on Strengthening and Improving the Effectiveness of the Party's External Relations to 2025 (Project 01) and Directive No. 12-CT/TW of the Secretariat on Strengthening the Party's Leadership and Improving the Effectiveness of People's Foreign Relations in the New Situation (Directive 12).

The conference was held in a combination of in-person and online formats at 63 provincial and municipal Party Committees nationwide, with the participation of representatives of central ministries, branches, provincial and municipal Party Committees, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and central mass organizations and people's organizations.

Project 01 and Directive 12 are the two latest directive documents of the Party Central Committee Secretariat directly related to the implementation of the Party's foreign affairs and people's foreign affairs pillars, which are of great significance in guiding foreign affairs and international integration activities of Party committees and authorities at all levels.

The conference focused on thoroughly understanding the goals, viewpoints, tasks and major solutions set out in Project 01 and Directive 12.

At the Conference, representatives of a number of departments, ministries, branches and localities shared many valuable experiences from the practical implementation of Party foreign affairs and people's foreign affairs; at the same time, presented many substantive recommendations and proposals to further improve the quality and effectiveness of the implementation of Project 01 and Directive 12 in the coming time.

Congratulating and praising the Party's foreign affairs and people's foreign affairs forces for their achievements in the past year, Head of the Central External Relations Commission Le Hoai Trung emphasized that Party foreign affairs and people's foreign affairs are two of the three pillars, together with State diplomacy, creating the combined strength of the foreign affairs front and building a comprehensive and modern diplomacy.

Mr. Le Hoai Trung highly appreciated the important contributions of the Party's foreign affairs and people's foreign affairs to the great achievements in the cause of comprehensive national renovation; actively and proactively participating in the process of expanding and developing the depth of the country's foreign relations; making important contributions to maintaining and promoting a peaceful and stable environment, firmly protecting independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity; and mobilizing external resources for national development.

In the context of the world and regional situation continuing to have many very complicated developments in the coming time, the Head of the Central External Relations Commission emphasized the requirement to ensure the direct and comprehensive leadership of the Party in foreign affairs; attach great importance to the work of assessing the situation; develop specific action plans and programs; pay attention to the work of arranging and training, fostering staff and implementing Party foreign affairs and people's foreign affairs; strengthen guidance, urging, inspection, and coordination work, contributing to the effective implementation of Project 01 and Directive 12.
