Khanh Hoi Border Guard Station rescued and brought the fishermen safely ashore.
Previously, at 9:00 p.m. on August 21, 2025, through the communication system, Khanh Hoi Border Guard Station received a report from Mr. Nguyen Van Tiem (born in 1993, residing in Hamlet 4, Khanh Lam Commune, Ca Mau ), owner and captain of fishing boat CM-05978-TS, with 1 additional crew member on board, that at about 8:30 p.m. on the same day, fishing boat CM-05978-TS was operating about 2 nautical miles west of Kinh Hoi estuary (Khanh Lam Commune, Ca Mau) when it was flooded, the engine broke down, combined with big waves and strong winds, the fishing boat was drifting at sea.
Immediately after receiving the news, Khanh Hoi Border Guard Station immediately dispatched a working group of 8 officers and soldiers and mobilized fishing boat CM-95229-TS of Ms. Lam Thi Hoa (Hamlet 1, Khanh Lam, Ca Mau) and 2 mobile crew members to the location of the fishing boat in distress to rescue fishermen and tow the fishing boat to shore.

At around 10:20 p.m. the same day, the unit's working group ship approached, rescued two fishermen, brought them safely aboard, and towed the distressed fishing boat to shore. When approaching Kinh Hoi estuary, the boat sank due to flooding.
Khanh Hoi Border Guard Station is taking care of the two fishermen in distress. Currently, the fishermen's health and spirit are stable.
Estimated property damage of the sunken fishing boat is about 150 million VND.
