On the evening of March 22, in Ha Tinh, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union held a ceremony to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2024) and awarded the 2024 Ly Tu Trong Award to 100 outstanding Youth Union officials nationwide.

Attending the ceremony were Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, representatives of leaders of Central Ministries, Departments, branches and Ha Tinh province; officials of the Central Youth Union Secretariat, representatives of affiliated Youth Union units and 100 outstanding Youth Union officials nationwide receiving the Ly Tu Trong Award in 2024.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha acknowledged and commended the great contributions and outstanding achievements of union members, youth, children nationwide and the Youth Union organization for the Party's revolutionary cause over the past 93 years; affirmed that the Party and State always highly appreciate the position, role and outstanding contributions of the Youth Union organization and the country's youth.

Reviewing the glorious historical tradition of the nation, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that over the past 93 years, generations of Vietnamese youth have succeeded each other in creating miracles in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

The exemplary youth in studying, working, scientific research, innovation, starting a business, establishing a career, protecting the Fatherland, maintaining political security, order, and social safety... have contributed to making the two words Vietnam famous, adding to the glorious tradition and pride of the young generation of Vietnam.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha also expressed that the Party and State place their trust and entrust responsibility to the young generation - those who have been trained and equipped with new knowledge, foreign languages, skills... so that Vietnam does not miss a beat in the fourth industrial revolution.

The Deputy Prime Minister hopes that generations of young people will promote the tradition of "Where there is a need, there is youth, where there is difficulty, there is youth", proactively and actively participating in solving difficult and new problems of the country, agencies and units.

Each member and youth should do their job well in each position, promote the spirit of volunteerism, spread the good cultural values ​​of the nation and the spirit of community service.

Reviewing the glorious tradition of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union over the past 93 years, Mr. Bui Quang Huy, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, First Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Union, emphasized that regardless of the period or name, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union always upholds the spirit of shock and volunteerism, with youthful strength and burning enthusiasm, always loyal and absolutely trusting in the leadership of the Party, in the revolutionary path that the Party and beloved Uncle Ho have chosen, growing and maturing with the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.

The Ly Tu Trong Award is a noble award of the Central Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union presented to the Secretaries of the Youth Union branches; Deputy Secretaries, Secretaries of the Youth Union at the grassroots level; Youth Union officials directly involved in Youth Union work and youth movements at the district level with outstanding achievements in studying, working, working, in Youth Union work and youth movements.

The award aims to encourage, support and commend exemplary union cadres who contribute to consolidating, building and developing the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to become increasingly stronger.

The individuals receiving the Ly Tu Trong Award are all exemplary union cadres with outstanding achievements in labor and work; in performing assigned professional and political tasks; being active in the union work and youth movements; well implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; having good moral qualities, prestige and good influence among union members and youth.

Based on the delegate criteria of this year's Ly Tu Trong Award Regulations, from 172 profiles of 64 provincial, municipal and affiliated Youth Unions, the Award Selection Council has selected 100 outstanding delegates to receive the Ly Tu Trong Award in 2024, including 24 delegates who are District-level Youth Union Secretaries, 69 delegates who are Grassroots Youth Union Secretaries, and 07 delegates who are Branch Youth Union Secretaries.

Among the 100 delegates receiving the Ly Tu Trong Award in 2024, 11 delegates are ethnic minorities.

Within the framework of the program, before the award ceremony, the delegates participating in the program participated in a journey to the source, visiting red addresses in Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces (Sen Village - Uncle Ho's Hometown, Truong Bon National Relic Site, Dong Loc Intersection National Relic Site, the tomb of the late General Secretary Tran Phu, the memorial site of Hero Ly Tu Trong); visited the model new rural area, smart residential area and Community Cultural House in Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh province and enjoyed the play "Song Moi Tuoi 17" by the late author Luu Quang Vu, and enjoyed the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Nghe Tinh Vi Giam Folk Songs./.
