New product "launch"

In March 2025, phase 1 of Nghi Son High-Tech Mechanical Factory officially came into operation, marking a new step forward in the field of mechanical engineering in the locality. The project has a total investment of more than 900 billion VND, a designed capacity of 50,000 tons of products/year, using high automation technology, integrating industrial robots, modern CNC machines. This is one of the few mechanical factories in the Central region that meets the needs of assembling and combining super-sized and super-heavy components, capable of supplying products that meet international standards from the energy industry such as drilling rigs, petrochemical refineries, hydropower, thermal power, wind power to civil works, industry, metallurgical logistics and supporting industries...

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dai Dung Group Joint Stock Company, Trinh Tien Dung, said: “The factory has been granted international certificates and certifications to export to many demanding markets in the world such as America, Europe, Australia, Japan, the Middle East, etc. In particular, the Nghi Son High-Tech Mechanical Factory has also been provided with green capital by the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam because the project was designed, built and operated to meet the criteria of the gold standard for green buildings (LEED Gold) of the US Green Building Council. The factory's strategy is to export about 70% of its products to international markets through Nghi Son Seaport, contributing to enhancing the capacity and brand of Thanh Hoa industrial production and increasing the province's budget revenue through this activity.”

Also in the series of projects about to “launch” new products, Dai Duong High-Tech Reinforced Concrete Components Manufacturing Factory is entering the “final” stage to complete equipment installation and put into operation in August this year. With a total investment of 1,098.5 billion VND on a land area of ​​about 12.3 hectares, the factory will produce pre-stressed concrete products, meeting the needs of projects, technical infrastructure works, especially coastal works and industrial parks.

In the light industry sector, the Automotive Wiring Harness Manufacturing and Installation Factory in Tho Tien Commune (Trieu Son), invested by BOB Thanh Hoa Company Limited, was also inaugurated in February 2025. The factory's production lines are imported from Korea and Japan, allowing the manufacture of wires according to international car manufacturer standards, supplying domestic and foreign assembly complexes. Currently, the factory is being managed and operated by THN Automotive Systems Vietnam Company Limited, organizing the production of automotive wiring harnesses for major car manufacturers such as Kia and Hyundai of Korea.

Thanh Hoa currently has 19 key products. According to the Department of Industry and Trade, with their dominant output and value, these products are the main driving force for the continuous growth of the industrial production index for many years. Therefore, each project with high technology content will bring about a wave of technology transfer and training of local human resources. More importantly, these projects continue to connect Thanh Hoa to the global supply chain, from the auto parts industry, precision mechanics to high-tech construction materials, creating special linked production value chains in the fields of mechanics, chemicals, new materials and textiles for export.

“Springboard” for growth goals

Along with new products, a series of newly-launched large-scale direct investment projects are expected to create a "push" for comprehensive, long-term growth. Notably, the Duc Giang Nghi Son Chemical Complex in the NSK with a total investment of more than VND 2,400 billion and an area of ​​30 hectares. The project will produce basic chemical products such as caustic soda, PAC, calcium hypochlorite, H3PO3..., serving the water treatment, petrochemical refining, paper production, and metallurgy industries domestically and for export. The highlight of this complex is not only its scale but also its connectivity and support, with the goal of supplying basic and essential chemicals directly to the petrochemical refining, metallurgy, and chemical deep processing industries. Thereby, it is expected to form a chemical industry center in the Central region, creating a new production - export axis for the whole inter-region.

Mr. Ho Manh Linh, Project Manager, said: “We are taking advantage of favorable weather to speed up construction before the rainy season. 200 engineers and workers are being concentrated in the foundation construction phase and it is expected that from the third quarter, up to 2,000 people will be mobilized to install machinery and equipment. Our goal is to put the factory into operation in the first quarter of 2026.”

In the textile sector, the Billion Union Vietnam Fabric Factory in Tan Truong Commune (Nghi Son Town) has also been officially deployed. The factory has a designed capacity of 60 tons/day, equivalent to 18,000 tons/year, producing knitted, finished and printed fabrics.

Mr. Nguyen Van Nam, ALC Construction Joint Stock Company - deputy project manager of the factory's construction contractor, shared: "We have mobilized 300 workers to deploy the foundation and plan to install machinery in October. In the fourth quarter, the factory will conduct trial operations to put the production lines into operation by the end of 2025, earlier than the approved schedule of June 2026".

It is known that the products of Billion Union Vietnam Fabric Factory not only serve the domestic market, helping to complete the chain of textile and garment supporting factories in Thanh Hoa in particular and Vietnam in general, but also "aim" directly at high-end markets such as the US, EU, Japan - requiring compliance with ESG standards and low energy consumption. This project promises to bring Thanh Hoa's textile and garment industry to a higher level, instead of just processing as before; at the same time, contributing to completing the supply chain so that garment enterprises in Vietnam meet the criteria of origin of raw materials and accessories, and enjoy tariff incentives in countries signing Free Trade Agreements.

Throughout the province, many new industrial clusters and factories have also begun to take shape, such as Hop Thang Industrial Cluster, Outdoor Gear Vietnam Sports Equipment Factory... These projects are evenly distributed throughout the regions, from the plains to the midlands and mountains, expanding industrial space beyond the core Nghi Son area, while making good use of local land funds and human resources.

Currently, the province has 33 large-scale direct investment projects being implemented with a total investment of about 116,649 billion VND. There are currently 2 projects in the process of installing machinery, putting into operation and recruiting workers: Radial Tire Factory in Area B, Bim Son Industrial Park, Bim Son town; Nghi Son Steel Rolling Mill No. 2, Nghi Son town. Many projects are accelerating implementation to put into new roadmap such as Nam Ich Thai Thang Textile Factory invested by South Asia Knitwear Limited Company under Nam Ich Group (Hong Kong); Miza Nghi Son Packaging Paper Factory, Phase 2... With a vibrant implementation speed, investment scale of thousands of billions of VND, applying modern technology, new projects being implemented in Thanh Hoa not only bring high-quality industrial products but also bring the province to a new level of development - becoming the industrial growth pole of the North Central region.

In the future, when a series of modern industrial parks are completed, Thanh Hoa expects to attract tens of billions of USD in FDI capital in many supporting industries, high-tech industries, advanced management and environmental friendliness. This is not only a "springboard" for economic growth goals and promoting urbanization, but also an opportunity to increase the capacity and qualifications of managers and workers in Thanh Hoa on the integration journey.
