Recently, General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense, sent a letter of commendation and encouragement to officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army delegation who are training in Moscow, Russia, in preparation for the parade at Red Square.
In the letter, General Phan Van Giang wrote that at the invitation of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation and with the consensus of the Politburo and the Secretariat, the Ministry of National Defense sent 86 soldiers who are outstanding officers and students in terms of qualities, abilities, health and physique from the Army Officer School 1 and a number of agencies and units, representing officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army to participate in the parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War (May 9, 1945 - May 9, 2025) in Russia.
According to General Phan Van Giang, this is an opportunity for us to pay tribute to the great contributions and sacrifices of revolutionary soldiers in the great patriotic war of the Soviet people and the anti-fascist allied forces, including Vietnamese revolutionary soldiers; at the same time, affirming the foreign policy of our Party and State and the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia.
General Phan Van Giang assessed: “Although deployed under tight time conditions, with incompatibility in speed and tempo, with great honor and pride, the soldiers deeply understood the mission, raised their determination, overcame all difficulties, made efforts to practice; organized mobility to Russia to ensure absolute safety, quickly adapted to the climate and weather conditions to continue practicing, and prepared to participate in the parade with the highest spirit and enthusiasm”.
On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, General Phan Van Giang hopes that the Vietnam People's Army will further promote the spirit of the April 30, 1975 victory of the Vietnamese people, unite, coordinate, make collective achievements, excellently complete the mission, turn determination into correct - consistent - beautiful - strong, heroic and majestic steps on Red Square. Thereby, contributing to brightening the image of the country, the Vietnamese people and the strength of the Vietnam People's Army, of the heroic Vietnamese people; worthy of the trust of the Party, the State and the Vietnam People's Army.
Earlier, in the early morning of April 30 (Vietnam time), the Vietnam People's Army delegation had its first joint training session at Red Square with delegations from other countries participating in the parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Great Patriotic War in the Russian Federation.
The training session took place at night, in cold and rainy conditions, sometimes with heavy rain. However, the spirit of all the cadres and students in the group was very excited, enthusiastic and full of determination.
In order of the parade blocks, the Vietnam People's Army delegation was in 8th place. During this training session, the display of equipment and weapons of the host country impressed those present.
