In 2023, in response to the Press Writing Contest on the theme of Party building called "Golden Hammer and Sickle" launched by the Central Committee, under the direction of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee of the "Golden Hammer and Sickle" Press Award of Nghe An province, the Provincial Journalists Association coordinated with the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Department of Information and Communications to issue an official dispatch to launch and develop the award rules, receiving positive response from a large number of reporters, members, and press agencies operating in the province.

In addition to the 3 press agencies of Nghe An province, there are also 18 resident press agencies, 13 Cultural - Sports and Communication Centers of districts, cities and towns and 10 units outside the press agencies, collaborators inside and outside the province with works participating in the contest.

Out of thousands of published and broadcast works, press agencies and authors selected and sent to the organizing committee 133 works in 5 types of journalism: print, electronic, radio - television and press photos.

In general, the works have comprehensively, vividly and multi-dimensionally reflected the work of Party building, political system building, and successful implementation of policies and resolutions of Party Congresses at all levels in Nghe An in 2023.

Many works have discovered and praised good deeds, typical and advanced cadres and party members to spread and encourage the movement; at the same time, they reflect existing problems, fight against negative behaviors, corruption, waste, contribute to the cause of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security in the province.

The Jury of the Provincial Golden Hammer and Sickle Award, in the spirit of democracy, responsibility, honesty and objectivity, unanimously selected 42 best works to honor and award prizes, including 3 First prizes; 8 Second prizes; 13 Third prizes; 18 Encouragement prizes.

The Steering Committee of the Nghe An Golden Hammer and Sickle Press Award has decided to reward 4 collectives and 2 individuals with outstanding achievements in directing the implementation of the 2023 Golden Hammer and Sickle Award - Nghe An, including: Military Zone 4 Newspaper; Special Topics Department, Nghe An Radio and Television Station; Current Affairs - Politics Department, Nghe An Newspaper; Propaganda Department of Quynh Luu District Party Committee; Comrade Le Quoc Khanh - Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee of the Nghe An Golden Hammer and Sickle Award; leaders of the Center for Culture - Sports and Communications of Tan Ky district (in charge of journalism).

The Steering Committee of the Nghe An Golden Hammer and Sickle Press Award also decided to award prizes to 3 authors and typical characters participating in the award, including: Mr. Ha Lac (89 years old), a collaborator of Military Zone 4 Newspaper - the oldest author whose work participated; reporter Ho Ngan Hanh (24 years old), Current Affairs - Politics Department, Nghe An Newspaper - the youngest author whose work participated and won the award; Mr. Phan Van Hai - Party cell secretary, Chairman of the Fisheries Association of Quynh Lap commune (Hoang Mai town), a typical character in the work "Because Phan Hai is a party member".

On this occasion, the Steering Committee of the 2023 Nghe An Provincial Golden Hammer and Sickle Award decided to reward 5 outstanding thematic works on the topic of Party building.
