Under the direction of the City People's Committee, the Management Board of Traffic Construction Investment Projects and the Management Board of Urban Infrastructure Construction Investment Projects have closely coordinated to review and prepare items to ensure progress, organize the groundbreaking ceremony and complete in April 2025.
Accordingly, on April 19, the City will hold a ceremony to open the Tran Quoc Hoan – Cong Hoa route connecting to Terminal T3, Tan Son Nhat International Airport. This is a national event, expected to contribute to relieving traffic pressure in the Northwest gateway area of the City and improving the capacity of aviation infrastructure.
On the same day, the Ring Road 2 project (section 1 from Phu Huu bridge to Vo Nguyen Giap street) and section 2 from Vo Nguyen Giap street to Pham Van Dong street will simultaneously start the bomb and mine clearance package.
Another project that started construction on April 19 is the mine clearance package for the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway.
In addition, large-scale urban infrastructure projects will also be implemented simultaneously. In particular, package XL-03 of the Xuyen Tam canal dredging, environmental improvement and infrastructure construction project will be started in Go Vap district. The project aims to beautify the urban area, improve the drainage and wastewater collection system, contribute to flood prevention and improve the quality of life for people in the area.
In addition, the project to upgrade the irrigation works on the right bank of the Saigon River (from Provincial Road 8 to Rach Tra, Cu Chi District) also officially started on April 19, aiming to prevent flooding, saltwater intrusion, respond to climate change and support the development of urban agriculture and riverside ecotourism.
On April 25, Ho Chi Minh City continued to hold the groundbreaking ceremony for the project to improve the drainage system on Nguyen Van Khoi and Le Van Tho streets (Go Vap district). This is an area that often experiences flooding during the rainy season and the investment in a new drainage system is expected to significantly improve environmental sanitation and traffic conditions.
On the same day, many sections of packages XL-07, XL-08, XL-09 and XL-10 of the Tham Luong - Ben Cat - Nuoc Len canal renovation project will be technically opened to traffic. These sections are located in Go Vap district, with a total length of nearly 4 km, contributing to inter-provincial traffic connection between Ho Chi Minh City and Long An, Binh Duong and Dong Nai through the canal and riverside road system.
Continuing the series of commemorative activities, on April 26, the City will hold a ceremony to open the HC1 tunnel at An Phu Intersection (Thu Duc City), helping to reduce traffic pressure at the eastern gateway and conveniently connect with the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway.
On April 27, the technical opening ceremony of the A branch bridge at the HLD intersection (on Ring Road 3) will take place, connecting directly with Nhon Trach bridge and enhancing the connectivity between Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai. By April 30, the project to upgrade and expand Duong Quang Ham street (Go Vap district) will be completed and put into use. Although there will be no ceremony, it will still be one of the important infrastructure highlights of the city during this holiday.
