Duc Lap has an extremely important position on the North-South strategic corridor, connecting the Central Highlands provinces with the Southeast region. With that strategic position, during the war years, the French colonialists, American imperialists and their lackeys all focused on turning this land into a solid defense line southwest of Buon Ma Thuot, controlling and destroying the supply route to the South of our army and people.

The victory of Duc Lap had a very great significance in opening up a strategic support corridor with the provinces of the Southeast, creating a solid position for the key battle to liberate Buon Ma Thuot. Continuing that victory, the army and people of Quang Duc liberated the district capitals in the area and liberated Gia Nghia and Dak Nong on March 23, 1975, contributing to the victorious conclusion of the historic Central Highlands campaign.

Provincial Party Committee member, Dak Mil District Party Committee Secretary Pham Thanh said: With the tradition of the heroic homeland, promoting the spirit of Duc Lap victory, over the past 50 years, under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Dak Mil district have been united, dynamic, creative, overcoming difficulties and challenges, achieving many great achievements in the fields of economy, culture, society, national defense - security (QP-AN), Party building and the political system.

From a poor, backward, war-torn border district, up to now, under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and Provincial People's Committee, Dak Mil district is on the path of development, aiming to become a type 3 urban area, becoming the dynamic growth center in the Northwest of Dak Nong province.

Dak Mil Party Committee, Government and People have been honored to receive many noble titles from the Party and State: the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces; First Class Liberation Medal; Second Class Labor Medal, along with many emulation flags and certificates of merit from the Government, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee.

Speaking at the ceremony, Provincial Party Secretary Ngo Thanh Danh emphasized: “This is an opportunity for us to review the great historical significance of the Duc Lap Victory, to pay tribute to and honor the heroic martyrs, wounded soldiers and veterans who sacrificed their lives and contributed their blood to the cause of national liberation, thereby making each person more deeply aware of their responsibility in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland today.

We are facing a historic opportunity to bring the country into a new era, an era of national growth. Faced with the requirements of the new development period, in the coming time, the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Dak Mil district need to focus on arranging, consolidating and improving the quality of organizational activities of the political system, creating momentum to bring Dak Mil into a new stage of development.

Review the socio-economic development program and plan for 2025 to ensure that it contributes to the province's achievement of the 2025 growth target of over 8%. Mobilize and effectively use resources, exploit and maximize potential and advantages, especially in terms of soil, climate, and values ​​of the Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark to develop high-tech agriculture, processing industry and tourism, soon making Dak Mil the driving force for growth in the Northwest of the province.

Continue to preserve and promote cultural and revolutionary historical values, especially 02 national historical relics; develop healthcare, education, build culture and people of Dak Mil to meet the requirements of the integration period. Well implement the policy of gratitude, sustainable poverty reduction, constantly improve people's lives, especially ethnic minorities.

Regularly consolidate a solid national defense and security foundation, maintain border sovereignty; along with maintaining and developing good relations with Petchanda district, Mondulkiri province, to build a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and mutually developing Vietnam - Cambodia border.

For the departments, branches and sectors of the province, districts and cities in the province continue to pay attention, cooperate and support Dak Mil district in the process of socio-economic development and maintaining national defense and security.
