On November 19, 2024, 13 doctors graduated from the 11-month UK Postgraduate Training Program in Neonatal Medicine of the Center for Supporting the Development of Maternal and Newborn Care in Vietnam (SSVN), sponsored by VNG .
Through a VND2.3 billion grant signed by the Dream Creation Fund (DMF) with SSVN in November 2023, VNG has supported SSVN to implement an intensive training program according to international standards for young neonatologists. This is part of VNG's long-term commitment to reduce infant mortality, especially cases that can be prevented with simple and effective medical solutions.
The course is designed based on the Level 1 standards of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, not only providing in-depth knowledge but also changing the approach to newborn care. From focusing on purely medical treatment, the course has moved towards a comprehensive neurodevelopmental care model, where the family plays an important role in the child's treatment and recovery process.
SSVN, the program implementer, is an organization specializing in maternal and newborn health education , focusing on improving the survival and long-term health of children in areas with high neonatal mortality rates. SSVN coordinates with domestic and international partners to provide professional, high-quality training programs, addressing the shortage in specialized training of neonatal doctors, nurses and midwives.
Over the years, VNG and DMF have always given priority to community projects, especially in the healthcare sector. The cooperation with SSVN is one of VNG's contributions to join hands in realizing the goal: no more newborn deaths from preventable causes. From 2017 to 2022, through DMF, VNG has also contributed more than 7.5 billion VND to Newborns Vietnam to support medical facilities and improve newborn care capacity at major hospitals.
In addition to medical projects, VNG also actively accompanies many social organizations such as Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund, Passerelles numériques Vietnam to support disadvantaged students to access education and training in the field of information technology. At the same time, VNG also cooperates with the Vietnam Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Orphans, Swim Vietnam drowning prevention club and CyberKid Vietnam - an organization to protect children from cyber security threats.
