Consumption of Vietnamese goods and digital transformation: Breakthrough from "July Promotion Day"

After 5 exciting days (from July 30 to August 3), the event "July Promotion Day", the opening highlight of the Hanoi City Concentrated Promotion Program 2025, officially ended with nearly 50,000 visitors, and the revenue of many booths doubled compared to last year.

The event not only achieved the goal of stimulating consumption, but also left a strong impression with shopping spaces and interesting consumer experiences, marking an important turning point in the trade promotion activities of Hanoi city.

A breakthrough event in scale, content and effectiveness of digital transformation

The event "July Promotion Day" in Hanoi with nearly 1,000 promotional points of sale responded by retail systems, chain stores and reputable Vietnamese product manufacturers such as: Central Retail (GO!, Topmarkets), BRGmart, Fujimart, Winmart, Aeon, Lotte, Co.opmart, MediaMart, Pico, Soi Bien, HomeFarm, Hacom, ... has created a rich and widespread consumer space, where people have access to high-quality products at preferential prices.

Not stopping there, businesses responding to the program all set up online ordering apps and support "Fast payment - cashless" directly at the point of purchase, receive incentives via QR code, cashless payment and interact with technology platforms.

Mr. Le Manh Phong - CEO of Go! Northern region commented: “Promoting online access and cashless payment solutions creates more convenience for customers, while helping our revenue not only grow well during the event but also expand the customer base using the online ordering app. Promotional QR codes have attracted great interest from young consumers who are willing to spend through digital platforms”.

A highlight of the event was the successful connection between digital payment solution providers and small businesses and traditional traders. Mr. Do Van Tu - Northern Business Director - Nextpay Digital Transformation Group Joint Stock Company said that the unit has supported nearly 50 businesses to integrate QR payments, helping to improve transaction speed and attract customers who prefer cashless payments. Many businesses said they will continue to use it long-term. This is a positive signal for the trend of digitalizing small-scale retail.

Similarly, Online Mobile Services Joint Stock Company also said that the event was an opportunity for the unit to reach new users, especially business households and individuals who have never used e-wallets before. There were about 500 new account openings in just a few days, showing the great potential of digital commerce activities.

In the context of the consumer market recovering from global economic fluctuations, the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade has demonstrated its strategic vision and well-organized capacity when choosing the theme "Smart consumption - stimulating shopping" as the highlight for this year's concentrated promotion program.

Instead of just stopping at traditional sales activities, the Department of Industry and Trade has proactively designed a digital consumer experience space, integrating technology, supporting businesses and small businesses to access modern payment and marketing platforms.

Mr. Nguyen The Hiep - Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade emphasized: “With the orientation of developing modern and sustainable trade, the Department of Industry and Trade not only organizes a simple promotional event but also creates a digital consumer experience environment, supporting businesses to change their sales methods, thereby improving competitiveness. The July Promotion Festival is a testament to the efforts to accompany businesses and consumers in the capital in the digital age.

With the success of the "July Promotion Festival" event, the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade affirmed that it will continue to promote the digitalization of concentrated promotion programs in the coming time, especially at the "November Promotion Festival" event and the "Hanoi Midnight Sale" event which will take place in November 2025.

The goal is not only to increase sales but also to create a modern consumer ecosystem, where Vietnamese goods are distributed through technology channels, directly reaching urban consumers.

The success of the event is a testament to the right direction of Hanoi city in using technology as a lever to develop sustainable consumption and the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade will continue to accompany businesses, people, and technology solution providers to expand the digital platform in commercial activities, contributing to building Hanoi into a smart and modern commercial center of the country.
