Major General Le Van: 'Playing in V-League is an honor for PVF-CAND Club'

On the afternoon of August 12, PVF-CAND Club made its debut ahead of the 2025-2026 Vietnamese professional football season. This is the first time in history that PVF-CAND has participated in the V-League. Last season, Coach Thach Bao Khanh's team finished third in the first division, then won a ticket to the V-League because Quang Nam Club withdrew from the tournament, and Truong Tuoi Dong Nai did not receive a ticket.

"Competing in the V-League is a great honor and an important development milestone for the club. We believe that professional fighting spirit, unique identity and dedication are the foundation to conquer higher goals," affirmed Major General Le Van, Chairman of PVF-CAND Club.

At the ceremony, PVF-CAND Club announced the lineup of the two teams for the new season, including many familiar faces as well as quality new contracts. PVF-CAND Club is the only unit in the Vietnamese professional football system with a first team playing in the V-League and a youth team playing in the first division.

Specifically, PVF-CAND Club will compete in V-League and National Cup. PVF-CAND Youth Team will compete in the first division.

At the ceremony, PVF-CAND Club introduced its new brand identity and new competition uniform, symbolizing the relentless fighting spirit and the perfect combination of tradition and modernity.

At the end of the ceremony, in a solemn atmosphere, the representative of the Ministry of Public Security's leadership spoke, assigned tasks and expected the two clubs to uphold their traditions, compete with all their might for the flag and colors, for the trust of fans and contribute to the development of Vietnamese football.

Senior Lieutenant General Pham The Tung, Deputy Minister of Public Security, gave a speech: "The leaders of the Ministry of Public Security always pay attention to directing the development of football, both professional and grassroots football in the entire force, with a youth football training center, contributing many quality players, contributing to improving the achievements of Vietnamese football in the international arena.

The Public Security Force had the Hanoi Police Club participating in the V-League last season, and this season, there are also the Ho Chi Minh City Police Club and PVF-CAND. This is a source of pride. Today, we are here to witness, cheer and encourage PVF-CAND to enter the new season. Although the preparation time is limited, however, with the efforts of the leadership team, the coaching staff, and the players have tried to complete the task. I commend the efforts of the coaching staff and players. I believe that PVF-CAND will achieve success and complete the tasks assigned by the Ministry of Public Security in the 2025-2026 season."

Coach Thach Bao Khanh: 'PVF-CAND Club wants to stay in the league, but it is sustainable relegation'

Sharing with the press, Coach Thach Bao Khanh affirmed that although there are only 3 weeks to prepare for V-League, PVF-CAND is ready.

"In the past 3 weeks, I have felt the players' training spirit and desire to compete in the V-League. The whole team is ready. The goal of PVF-CAND Club is to achieve the highest possible position. Of course, PVF-CAND will try to stay in the league, but it is a 'sustainable stay' in the V-League," coach Thach Bao Khanh answered Thanh Nien Newspaper's question about the season's goal.

To prepare for the V-League, PVF-CAND has brought in a series of veterans such as Nguyen Van Dung, Truong Van Thai Quy, Do Van Thuan, Do Sy Huy, Hoang Vu Samson... along with Joseph Mpande, Almarido, Alain. "The foreign players have at least 1 year of playing in the V-League. The experienced players help PVF-CAND have a balanced squad. PVF-CAND has many young players, so having older players and foreign players will help PVF-CAND be more balanced. Hopefully the group of veterans and young players can support each other," coach Thach Bao Khanh shared.

PVF-CAND currently owns many faces who just won the U.23 Southeast Asian Championship with Vietnam U.23 such as Nguyen Hieu Minh, Nguyen Xuan Bac...

"The young players have just played in the U.23 Southeast Asian tournament and the U.21 national tournament, so there is no need to focus on physical preparation. They are already in the state to compete. The whole team is focusing on perfecting their techniques and tactics. The coaching staff will reduce the workload and enhance the ability to play under pressure to help them adapt. The V-League is very different from the first division," the PVF-CAND coach shared.

Thanh Nien Newspaper asked Coach Thach Bao Khanh: PVF-CAND played offensively and controlled the ball in the first division, but when they went up to V-League to face strong teams, did the team change their playing style?

"Of course, we aim for beautiful football to dedicate. PVF-CAND has the desire of youth to dedicate to the audience. But at this time, PVF-CAND will calculate each opponent to come up with the best solution for the team. Of course, when young players have an environment without pressure, they will play very well.

PVF-CAND will create a surprise, because we are a young team, the players have aspirations and hope that the surprise will appear this season. I hope that everyone will look forward to and support our young players", Coach Thach Bao Khanh concluded.
