To limit the number of successful candidates from exceeding the quota allowed by the Ministry of Education and Training, each university will set different additional criteria and announce them in the admission plan.

This sub-criteria is applied in case many candidates have the same admission score at the end of the list.

These are rare cases but can happen in reality. When encountered, candidates can only accept it with regret.

Most universities have a secondary criterion of prioritizing higher preferences. That is, among candidates with the same admission score at the end of the list, those who place their preferences in a higher order will be given priority.

The group of schools applying this sub-criteria includes: Hanoi Medical University; Hanoi University of Industry; University of Transport; Hanoi Law University; Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology; University of Science - Vietnam National University, Hanoi...

Some other schools have set a secondary criterion of the Math score in the high school graduation exam, such as: Hanoi University of Science and Technology; Academy of Finance; Foreign Trade University, University of Commerce... That is, for these schools, when many candidates at the bottom of the list have the same admission score equal to the standard score of the major, the candidate with a higher high school graduation Math score will pass first. Particularly at Foreign Trade University and University of Commerce, if the number of candidates with the standard score still exceeds the quota, the order of wishes will be considered.

Some other schools have additional criteria in each admission method that inform about more preferential conditions such as academic records...

As at Hanoi University, when many candidates at the end of the list have the same total admission score and the same preference order, the school applies the following priority order: Foreign Language score, Literature/Physics/Informatics score and Math score.

Hanoi National University of Education uses the secondary criterion of the total average score of grades 10, 11 and 12 of the subject group according to the regulations of each major.

The Academy of Journalism and Communication divides the criteria into 2 groups. Specifically, in the method of considering the results of the high school graduation exam, for majors with a coefficient for the main subject, priority is given to candidates with a higher total original score of 3 subjects without the coefficient, without adding priority points, without adding incentive points, and without rounding. For the remaining majors/specializations, the Academy gives priority to candidates with higher high school math exam results.

With the method of considering high school transcripts, for majors with coefficients for the main subjects (major group 1, major group 3, major group 4), priority is given to candidates with a higher average score of 6 semesters of Math, Literature, English, and History at high school. For the remaining majors/specializations (group 2), priority is given to candidates with a higher average score of 6 semesters of Math at high school.

With the combined admission method, the Academy prioritizes candidates with a higher average score of 6 semesters of Math, Literature, English, and History at high school level.

According to the plan, the general admission system of the Ministry of Education and Training is currently in the process of virtual filtering (including 6 times). The 6th virtual filtering will end at 4:30 p.m. on August 20 and give the final results.

The Ministry of Education and Training's admission support system ensures that each candidate is only admitted to one highest wish.

According to the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training, by 5:00 p.m. on August 20, training institutions will enter the admission scores and admission results into the system; review and prepare to announce the first round of admission results according to the general schedule.

Training institutions will announce the benchmark scores and list of first-round admitted candidates before 5:00 p.m. on August 22.

Candidates confirm online admission for the first round on the system before 5:00 p.m. on August 30.
