(HNMO) - On June 17, Ho Chi Minh City Police announced that they had decided to fine Ms. TTLC (born in 1973, residing in Hoc Mon, Ho Chi Minh City) and THL (born in 1976, residing in District 12, Ho Chi Minh City) 7.5 million VND each for posting false content.

Previously, through understanding the situation and implementing professional measures, Ho Chi Minh City Police continued to discover 2 Facebook accounts posting false content related to the incident of a group of people attacking the headquarters of the People's Committee of a commune in Dak Lak province.

The Department of Cyber ​​Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (Ho Chi Minh City Police) coordinated with professional units to summon Facebook account owners who committed violations, including: TTLC (born in 1973, residing in Hoc Mon) and THL (born in 1976, residing in District 12).

At the police station, both people were aware that they had posted false information, affecting the security and order situation in the locality; and voluntarily removed the violating posts.

The actions of TTLC and THL violated Point a and Point d, Clause 1, Article 101, Decree No. 15/2020/ND-CP dated February 3, 2020 of the Government stipulating sanctions for administrative violations in the fields of post and telecommunications, radio frequencies, information technology and electronic transactions (amended and supplemented in Decree No. 14/2022/ND-CP).

Based on the level of violation, the Department of Cyber ​​Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (Ho Chi Minh City Police) issued a decision to administratively fine TTLC and THL VND 7.5 million each.

Previously, on June 16, Ho Chi Minh City Police administratively fined NHAD VND 7.5 million for posting false information about the incident in which a group of people attacked the People's Committee headquarters in Dak Lak province.

Ho Chi Minh City Police Department recommends that people follow information related to security and order in the city and other localities through official information channels; absolutely do not post or share false and unverified information on social networks, causing public panic and affecting security and order.
