On August 9, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued an official decision to rename 26 hospitals under the management of the Department of Health in the new Ho Chi Minh City area. Of these, the old Ho Chi Minh City area has 17 hospitals, the old Binh Duong area has 3 hospitals and the old Ba Ria - Vung Tau area has 6 hospitals.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requested the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health to be responsible for directing the implementation of personnel and financial transfers at the above hospitals according to the principle of maintaining the status quo.
At the same time, urgently issue regulations on functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of hospitals in accordance with legal provisions and decentralized and authorized authority.
