On August 13 (local time), Taylor Swift made a surprise appearance on the podcast New Heights hosted by her boyfriend Travis Kelce and brother Jason Kelce.

During the chat, Taylor Swift officially announced her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl , scheduled to be released on October 3.

The Life of a Showgirl is Taylor Swift's 12th studio album. The album consists of 12 songs that represent the 12 years since the singer switched from country music to pop with Red .

She explains: "With Tortured poets department , I poured out all the data about all the thoughts and feelings of the past two, three years into 31 songs. And here there are only 12 songs. There is no 13th song, no other song to come.

This is the album I've wanted to make for a long time. I also wanted all the songs on the album to have their own reasons, I couldn't leave any out or add any in without keeping the spirit of the album intact. Everything fit together."

The track list was revealed on the official website, with the album's closing track, which is also the title track, featuring Espresso singer Sabrina Carpenter.

Taylor Swift describes The Life of a Showgirl as her most deeply personal project to date.

It's a vivid portrait of the emotions, inner thoughts and journeys behind the dazzling stage moments that audiences witnessed on The Eras Tour.

"I wrote these songs while on tour in Europe. Performing, flying to Sweden and back, I was physically exhausted but creatively exploding," Taylor Swift recounted.

She also revealed that the album is not about what happens on stage, but "everything behind the scenes" - where the real Taylor Swift lives, struggles and also loves.

The album's main style pursues liveliness, and orange was chosen as the symbolic tone because it "accurately reflects my inner energy during this period".
