On March 31, the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force's training ship Suzunami with about 230 officers and sailors led by Colonel Mizuno Tatsuhito docked at Tien Sa port, beginning a friendship visit to Da Nang.

The ship welcoming ceremony took place solemnly with the participation of representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Naval Region 3 Command, City Border Guard Command, City Military Command, Da Nang Port Border Guard Command, Foreign Affairs Department - Military Region 5 Command and representatives of the Foreign Affairs Department (Ministry of National Defense).

On the Japanese side, there were Mr. Mori Takero, Consul General of Japan in Da Nang, Lieutenant Colonel Matsuzaki Ryo, Deputy Defense Attaché of Japan in Vietnam, and officials from the Embassy of Japan, the Office of the Defense Attaché of Japan in Vietnam and the Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang.

The friendship visit to Vietnam from March 31 to April 3 aims to strengthen bilateral defense cooperation and contribute to maintaining regional peace and stability.

This is a clear demonstration of the increasingly deepening cooperation between the Ministries of Defense of Vietnam and Japan, as well as between the Vietnam People's Navy and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. The main objective of the visit is to enhance mutual understanding, build trust and promote cooperation in many fields.

During the visit, the ship's commander will pay a courtesy call to the leaders of Da Nang City and the Naval Region 3 Command.

The delegation also participated in activities to visit and exchange with officers and soldiers of Naval Region 3, organize a reception on the ship, visit local tourism and conduct joint training at sea.

This visit of the Suzunami ship not only contributes to strengthening the cooperative relationship between the two navies but is also an opportunity for officers and sailors of both sides to exchange and improve their understanding and professional skills.

Thereby, demonstrating the solidarity and friendly cooperation between Vietnam and Japan in the field of security and defense, in line with the extensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
