Gender mainstreaming training for the community

During 11 days from November 22 to December 2, the Women's Union of Tan Son district organized 6 training courses for 480 people who are village/hamlet officials, prestigious people, pioneers... in residential areas of the communes: Thu Ngac, Lai Dong, Van Luong, Long Coc, Thu Cuc, My Thuan on developing gender mainstreaming capacity for the community.

At the training courses, trainees studied the following topics: Some basic concepts of gender and gender mainstreaming; Gender mainstreaming; Attracting men's participation in preventing gender-based violence.

Through the training courses, village/hamlet officials and influential people in the community will grasp some basic knowledge about gender equality and skills in implementing gender mainstreaming. At the same time, equip and improve knowledge about gender equality, skills in implementing gender mainstreaming as well as communication work on gender equality for village/hamlet officials, influential people and pioneers in the community. From there, create a strong change in awareness and attitude towards implementing issues related to gender equality and solving urgent problems for women and children.

The training course attracted male participation.

This is one of the four contents of Project 8 on "Implementing gender equality and solving urgent issues for women and children" under the National Target Program on socio -economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas, 2024 in Tan Son district.
