The Government Office has just issued a document conveying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's direction on the plan to effectively exploit My Dinh National Stadium.

Accordingly, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh assigned the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism to urgently direct research and develop a plan to exploit My Dinh National Stadium, ensuring effective exploitation, avoiding waste and degradation; and report to the Prime Minister before April 15, 2025.

My Dinh National Stadium is located in Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi. This is one of the most modern sports facilities in Vietnam. Inaugurated in 2003, My Dinh Stadium has a capacity of about 40,000 spectators, and is the venue for many major events such as the SEA Games, AFF Cup, and international matches of the Vietnam football team.

This stadium is not only a sports venue, but also hosts concerts and cultural events. However, recently, My Dinh Stadium has been seriously degraded, especially the grass surface and infrastructure.

According to Mr. Dang Ha Viet - Director of the Department of Physical Training and Sports, in 2025, My Dinh Stadium will be granted 8 billion VND to repair the grass surface. At the end of last year, the plan was approved, so this year the sports industry will carry out the repair and renovation. It is expected that My Dinh Stadium will have the entire grass surface repaired and the foundation redone. The current grass surface is guaranteed to have 20 layers, in the near future it will be dug up from 40 to 50 layers to completely renew it. In addition, the water sprinkler system will also be upgraded.
