Nha Trang Secondary School (Thai Nguyen City) is the first educational institution in Thai Nguyen province to deploy Smart Canteen in schools. The model is deployed to implement the Conclusion Notice No. 29/TB-UBND dated March 13, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee Chairman at the Conference on implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo in the Education sector. At the same time, it contributes to creating a green, clean, beautiful, friendly educational landscape and environment, in line with the trend of the times.

The Smart Canteen model has been deployed to some extent to resolve the long-standing concerns of the School as well as parents in ensuring food hygiene and safety, through providing safe, nutritious, convenient, diverse meals with traceable food origins. Thereby limiting the situation of street vendors, food of unknown origin, and unhygienic food in school areas. Therefore, the model has received high support from parents.

Smart Canteen solution, with standard and modern canteen space, was deployed by UboFood Company (An Viet Group) from the beginning of 2025. During the implementation process, the unit received active cooperation from the Department of Education and Training, Department of Education and Training of Thai Nguyen City, schools and technology enterprises.

To effectively implement the model, the Company has closely coordinated with the School, organized many exchange and discussion sessions, and focused on training for participating personnel.

The school has arranged the location, space, and created maximum conditions for the Company to set up and put the model into operation. The enterprise covers the cost of deploying the entire system. During the operation process, every month, the enterprise is responsible for setting aside a portion of its profits to support the School, with a higher level of support than traditional canteen solution providers.

The implementation of the smart canteen model in schools is through the issuance of SmartCanteen cards to students (students directly manage and use, parents pay); students can choose dishes using the sales software at the canteen or mobile application software for parents.

The operating procedures have been standardized. Therefore, when using Smart Canteen services, students use payment cards to buy food instead of using cash. Thereby, parents can monitor their children's daily spending and meals at school.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Dao, in Phan Dinh Phung Ward, Thai Nguyen City, shared: When I learned that the school was implementing a smart canteen, I registered my child to participate. Using digital solutions to provide safe food for students, while parents can still control their spending and the food their children choose, makes us feel very secure.

From the practical effects, in just a short time of implementation, the Smart Canteen model has achieved remarkable results: Nha Trang Secondary School currently has 2,061 students, after more than 3 months of implementation, over 75% of students use the card, providing about 1,800 orders/day. The school, parents, and students are all satisfied and give good reviews.

The successful model is the result of close cooperation and the joint efforts of the government, businesses, schools and parents in implementing solutions to ensure food safety and hygiene for students, contributing to protecting the health of future generations.

From the success of the Smart Canteen model at Nha Trang Secondary School, the Thai Nguyen Department of Education and Training will continue to coordinate with UboFood Company and An Viet Group to expand the model in the province, ensuring practicality and sustainability.
