Độc lập - Tự do - Hạnh phúc

After 2 days of flood water receding, people in Tuong Duong picked up their belongings in thick mud.

Although the floodwaters have receded for more than two days, life in the flood-prone areas of Western Nghe An has yet to return to normal. Mud still covers the streets and houses; furniture and goods have been damaged by the water and piled up. Many families have been cleaning up for days but have yet to finish, struggling in a state of deprivation and chaos.

Along the roads, items and goods were covered in mud. Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly, Tuong Duong commune, choked up: "My store was flooded up to the roof, even if I wanted to save it, it was too late because the flood came too quickly. While fleeing, I only had time to bring a few dry clothes, the rest I left behind. Looking back now, all I see is mud and a musty smell, it's heartbreaking beyond words." Photo: XH
