On November 28, the Office of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province said that Mr. Dang Van Minh, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, had just chaired a meeting to listen to a report on the implementation of compensation and site clearance (GPMB) for the construction project of the North-South expressway in the East, phase 2021 - 2025, through the province.

According to the report of the Quang Ngai Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, the North-South Expressway project in the East, phase 2021 - 2025, the section passing through Quang Ngai province is more than 60 km long, with a total land acquisition area of ​​more than 494 hectares. To date, 224 compensation and support plans for the acquisition of more than 470 hectares have been approved.

5/19 communes and towns have completed 100% of site clearance work, while 14 communes and wards have not completed site clearance work.

To date, localities have handed over more than 53.5 km of land to contractors, reaching 89% of the total length of the route through Quang Ngai province; relocated 408/836 public works; constructed 23/23 resettlement areas and 17/17 grave reburial sites.

Mr. Dang Van Minh, Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, affirmed that Quang Ngai province is determined to complete the handover of 100% of the cleared site for the construction project of the North-South expressway in the East, phase 2021 - 2025, the section passing through the province before December 31, 2023 in accordance with the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister.

The Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee requested the Quang Ngai Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board to coordinate with localities, Project Management Board 2 and construction contractors to promptly resolve problems in compensation, site clearance and construction. At the same time, coordinate with localities to review and propose the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee to reward communes, wards and towns that complete site clearance work on schedule.

"Regarding technical infrastructure, the units responsible for the relocation are required to complete it before December 31, 2023. The Department of Construction and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment will advise the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province to resolve recommendations related to construction material mines," said Mr. Minh.
