According to records in many localities, market areas in Hoa Khanh, Thanh Khe, Hai Chau wards..., people encroach on sidewalks and roads to do business; market-goers carelessly stop their vehicles in the middle of the road to buy goods.
At the Dang Dung - Vu Ngoc Phan intersection, some street vendors sit in the middle of the street selling goods, obstructing traffic and creating a shabby image.
Meanwhile, some vendors right at the intersection of Cu Chinh Lan Street and Alley 123 (Thanh Khe Ward) openly display seafood for sale. Along the road, goods are displayed on the sidewalk, forcing buyers to stand on the street to choose their goods, posing a potential risk of accidents.
At Tan Lap market, four fruit vendors also occupied the intersection of Pham Van Nghi and alley 104 Le Dinh Ly to do business. The already narrow road became even more cramped, making it difficult for vehicles to move in the midday sun.
According to the People's Committee of Thanh Khe Ward, the locality regularly organizes forces to be on duty, remind and handle cases of encroachment on the road and sidewalks around the market. However, violations still recur, especially for street vendors. It is worth mentioning that when the functional forces leave, the street vendors immediately return.
After the merger, Thanh Khe Ward will manage 9 markets. In the near future, the locality will conduct a comprehensive survey of traders and street vendors at the markets to develop a management plan. This August, a campaign will be launched to disseminate information, remind traders, and have them sign a commitment not to encroach on roadsides and sidewalks. From October, after the dissemination period ends, the ward will strictly handle violations to ensure urban aesthetics and traffic order.
Localities in the city are stepping up efforts to restore order and urban beauty at the markets.
Since the morning of August 8, the Hai Chau Ward Urban Regulation Inspection Force has coordinated with the Ward Police to simultaneously inspect and handle the illegal occupation of sidewalks and roads in the Han Market area. Through records, the roads around the market such as Tran Phu, Bach Dang, Hung Vuong, Nguyen Thai Hoc are basically clear, limiting the situation of selling on sidewalks or roadsides as before.

According to Mr. Van Minh Quang, Deputy Director of the Hai Chau Ward Public Service Supply Center, this is the result of the synchronous combination of propaganda and strict handling of violations in the past time.
However, Han Market still has a problem: there is no dedicated parking lot for customers. Therefore, many people still have to park on the street when they come to shop, causing traffic congestion during rush hour.
Hai Chau Ward proposed that the city take advantage of the degraded and vacant public housing at 28-30 Hung Vuong Street to renovate it into a parking lot to serve residents and tourists.
In Hoa Xuan ward, the urban regulation force coordinated with the police force to maintain regular operations at 4 markets: Hoa Xuan, Mieu Bong, Ba Xa new market and Hoa Chau.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Hoang, Director of the Hoa Xuan Ward Public Service Center, said that the locality focuses on propaganda work, reminding traders and vendors to raise awareness and not encroach on roads and sidewalks.
At the same time, all small traders and street vendors around the markets will be inspected. This is the basis for strict management and supervision, and at the same time, moving towards building a model of "civilized urban markets".
In the coming time, the locality will install a surveillance camera system at the markets to quickly detect violations, serve as a basis for handling, and thereby maintain long-term order.
