Deputy Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee Tran Thi Thanh Huong attended and directed the Party Congress of Thanh Dong commune.

Speaking at the congress, comrade Tran Thi Thanh Huong, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee, acknowledged, commended and highly appreciated the achievements of the Party Committee and people of Thanh Dong commune in the past term. She requested the Party Committee of Thanh Dong commune to further promote the work of building and rectifying the Party and the political system to be clean and strong in all aspects. The Party Committee needs to do it first and do it well to create a spread, because what the Party and people need most now is a strong Party cell, cadres close to the people, cadres with the right decisions and quick actions, promptly solving problems arising from the grassroots.

Regarding economic development, Deputy Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee Tran Thi Thanh Huong suggested that Thanh Dong commune correctly and fully perceive the position, role and potential of the commune in the overall new development space of the province, in order to renew its thinking, vision and determine breakthrough tasks for development in the coming time.

The commune needs to focus on regional connectivity, through strengthening traffic infrastructure connections between the central location of Thanh Dong commune (Provincial Road 963, National Highway 80 connecting to Can Tho City, Kenh 3 Road, Kenh 8 Road), to serve as a hub for intra-regional and inter-regional trade.

At the same time, the commune needs to focus on developing agricultural production in accordance with local conditions and characteristics to increase productivity, quality and product value. Focus on developing key commodities and OCOP products; both enhancing value and preserving local identity. Gradually forming urban industrial clusters, associated with eco-tourism.

Thanh Dong commune needs to boldly deploy the model of digital government, digital economy and digital society from the commune level. The model of smart commune and serving government needs to be realized by being close to the people, serving the people in the best way….

The Standing Committee of An Giang Provincial Party Committee appointed 32 comrades to join the Executive Committee of Thanh Dong Commune Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term; appointed 11 comrades to join the Standing Committee of the Commune Party Committee and appointed comrade Le Truong Ke to hold the position of Secretary of the Commune Party Committee.

In the 2020 - 2025 term, Thanh Dong Commune Party Committee completed 24/24 targets of the congress resolution, of which 19/24 targets were achieved and exceeded; 5/24 targets achieved from 85% - 95% compared to the resolution.

The work of building and rectifying the Party and the political system has been strengthened; the economy has continued to develop in the right direction; culture and society have made much progress; social security has been ensured; national defense and security have been maintained; the political system has been consolidated, improved, and operates increasingly effectively and efficiently.

Many models and movements have achieved practical results, creating positive changes in people's lives, contributing to building an increasingly civilized, modern and sustainable society.
