The provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue said it had found the body of a crew member on fishing boat BTh 95229 TS that fell into the sea and went missing a few days earlier.

Specifically, at 9:00 a.m. on May 13, two fishing boats found the body of worker Mai Xuan Ph. (born in 1972, KP6, Phu Tai, Phan Thiet City), a crew member on fishing boat BTh 95229 TS that fell into the sea and went missing on May 11. The body of this worker was immediately recovered, brought to shore and handed over to his family for burial according to custom.

Previously, as reported, at 3:00 p.m. on May 11, fishing boat BTh 95229 TS, capacity 330 CV, with 14 crew members. The boat was operating as a purse seine, with Mr. Bui Van Thu (born in 1972, KP5, Duc Long, Phan Thiet City) as the owner and captain. While the boat was operating at a location about 50 nautical miles southwest of Phan Thiet estuary, worker Mai Xuan Ph. fell into the sea and went missing.
