However, this reward has made parents unhappy because it discriminates between students who contribute more and less. Accordingly, students who donate more than 100,000 VND will receive a certificate of merit from the school signed by the principal, while students who donate less than 100,000 VND will only receive a letter of merit from the homeroom teacher.

Many parents are upset that this form of reward is anti-educational, not only hurting students but also affecting their perspective in the school environment.

"I don't understand how the school can discriminate in the form of praise based on the amount of money students contribute like that. This type of praise is very toxic, especially in an educational environment," an indignant parent told Tuoi Tre .

On the afternoon of September 24, a representative of Le Quy Don Primary School confirmed that there would be two types of certificates and letters of commendation to be sent to the school's students after they contributed to support people affected by storms and floods. The school would like to learn from this experience in implementing the commendation work that caused outrage among students and parents.

Further explanation, because the number of certificates of merit if signed would be a lot. At that time, the principal was on a business trip so he could not sign all the certificates of merit for the school's students, so he asked for the school's joint opinion.

There is a proposal to encourage students with certificates of merit (from the school) or letters of merit (from the homeroom teacher) to suit the urgent time.

"All of you will be praised. On the morning of September 23, the school will hold a ceremony to award certificates of merit and class representatives will receive them for students who have contributed over 100,000 VND. The remaining students will receive letters of merit from their homeroom teacher.

However, at that time, the letters of praise had not been sent to all students. The school found that this way of giving praise was really inappropriate. The school would like to accept your comments and will make appropriate adjustments in the next activities to do better," the school's representative explained.
