Petrovietnam General Director Le Ngoc Son and SOVICO Board Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement on August 7.
According to information from the Vietnam National Energy and Industry Group (Petrovietnam), the Group is currently actively implementing tasks in the spirit of Conclusion No. 76-KL/TW dated April 24, 2024 of the Politburo . In particular, Petrovietnam continues to affirm its pioneering role in ensuring national energy security, adapting to the trend of energy transition and deep international integration. At the same time, establishing new strategic partners, expanding the value chain, connecting cross-border investments, as well as implementing the direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the 4th Petrovietnam Party Congress, term 2025-2030 with the goal of bringing Petrovietnam into the TOP 5 largest corporations in Southeast Asia in the next 5 years, continuing to grow, contributing to promoting macroeconomic growth.
To carry out the above tasks, in the new development phase, Petrovietnam focuses on restructuring its operating model, establishing three strategic production and business pillars including: Energy; Industry and High-tech Services.
The Energy Pillar plays a key role, focusing on ensuring national energy security and synchronous development from traditional oil and gas to renewable energy, offshore wind power, hydrogen, LNG and green ammonia.
The Industrial Pillar aims to expand the refining and petrochemical industry, chemicals, new materials production, mechanical engineering, and deeper participation in the global energy supply chain.
With the pillar of High-Tech Services, the Group focuses on developing a high-quality service ecosystem, including logistics, consulting - design - construction - operation, digital transformation and science and technology meeting international standards.
These three strategic pillars are identified as the foundation to help Petrovietnam effectively implement cooperation agreements with capable partners with long-term development vision, especially the private sector.
Inheriting the 50-year tradition of building and developing the powerful Petrovietnam, maintaining the number one position in the country, having regional and international prestige, the Group has played a leading role in many industries and sectors of the economy through cooperation chains, not only with corporations and state-owned enterprises such as Viettel, ACV, TKV, Vinachem, VRG, VIMC... but also expanding to large private enterprises such as Hoa Phat, SOVICO...
Cooperation with leading Vietnamese enterprises brings benefits to both sides in strengthening connections, expanding scale, improving production and business capacity, optimizing competitiveness and positively contributing to economic growth.
On behalf of Petrovietnam, Chairman of the Board of Directors Le Manh Hung expressed his respect and appreciation for SOVICO's strong development process as well as the group's contributions to the country through ecosystem sectors such as finance, banking, aviation, real estate, resort tourism and energy.
Petrovietnam Chairman of the Board of Directors Le Manh Hung shared that according to the Resolution of the 4th Party Congress of the Group, the Group aims to be in the top 500 largest enterprises in the world - Fortune 500 by 2030. To achieve that goal, Petrovietnam leaders affirmed that expanding cooperation with private partners with capacity, experience and financial potential such as SOVICO is a strategic step to mobilize social resources, promote innovation and increase investment efficiency throughout the value chain.
