On October 3, at a press conference on the socio-economic situation, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City (DoET) responded to Tien Phong newspaper's question about the regulation prohibiting students from using mobile phones during class.

According to the Department of Education and Training, when students use mobile phones indiscriminately during class, it will cause them to lose focus in absorbing the lesson. However, if the interactive and data searching features are actively exploited, mobile phones will be a useful tool for students' research and learning purposes, contributing to improving teaching and learning effectiveness in the context of digital transformation.

Allowing students to use mobile phones in the classroom to support learning activities is decided by the teacher directly teaching the subject.

Teachers specifically inform students that they are only allowed to use their phones as a device to support learning activities and what they are not allowed to do when using their phones in class, during class time.

Students are only allowed to use mobile phones during class with the consent or request of the teacher. The use of mobile phones is for learning purposes, under the management and supervision of teachers, schools and students' families.
