Ensure student numbers and staff quality

At the conference, the education sector of Ca Mau province recorded many outstanding results at the secondary level. In the 2024-2025 school year, the whole province mobilized more than 120,100 secondary school students (91.57%) and nearly 56,860 high school students (65.50%) to enroll. The team includes 6,818 secondary school officials, teachers, and staff and more than 3,100 at the high school level. The sector continues to invest in building schools in the direction of standardization and modernization.

In his opening speech, Director of the Department of Education and Training Nguyen Van Nguyen acknowledged the spirit of innovation and dedication of the teaching staff, along with their active participation in movements launched by the industry.

The Director of the Department of Education and Training called on the entire sector to uphold responsibility, closely follow the direction of all levels, promote the achieved results, and be determined to complete the tasks of the 2025-2026 school year.

The rate of student mobilization to attend school for secondary education is high.

Investing in facilities, improving school quality

By June 2025, Ca Mau will have 171/227 high schools meeting national standards (75.33%). Last school year, the education sector completed its staff, facilities, and equipment to meet the 2018 General Education Program .

School facilities are invested in.

Outstanding activities include: effectively implementing STEM education; innovating teaching, testing and assessment methods; promoting career guidance and streaming; ensuring school safety; teaching life skills, experiences, integrating content about islands, environment, and traffic safety. The sector also completed local educational materials for grades 9 and 12.

The Department of Education and Training proposed solutions to improve internal management and inspection; strengthen coordination between schools, families and society; and promote the role of the Youth Union and Young Pioneers in educating students in ethics, lifestyle and ideals.

Expectations for the new school year

Dr. Le Hoang Du, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, acknowledged and commended the efforts of the staff and teachers throughout the sector throughout the past school year.

Concluding the conference, Dr. Le Hoang Du, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau, acknowledged and praised the efforts of the entire sector and directed: “Entering the 2025-2026 school year, the provincial education and training sector needs to prepare well the conditions to effectively implement the assigned tasks, focusing on fundamental and comprehensive innovation of education and training to meet the requirements of industrialization and modernization. Synchronously deploy solutions to improve management capacity and professional capacity for managers and teachers. Effectively implement teaching and learning according to the new curriculum and textbooks; strive to maintain and improve the quality of universal secondary education. Effectively implement the plan to build national standard general schools. At the same time, promote digital transformation in the entire sector…”.

The sector will continue to organize exams and tests to ensure fairness and objectivity; promote English as a second language in schools; develop a two-session/day teaching schedule suitable for each locality, aiming to improve the quality of comprehensive education. With a clear orientation and determination, Ca Mau expects to achieve more achievements, contributing to building quality human resources to serve sustainable development.
