Speed up construction

According to the report of Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), by the end of 2024, the total volume of Tan Son Nhat Airport Terminal 3 Project reached 83%, many items have been completed such as the rough part of the terminal, aircraft parking lot. Contractors are constructing the electromechanical part, fire protection system, air conditioning system, escalator, etc., expected to be completed in early 2025.

Mr. Le Khac Hong, Head of the T3 Terminal Construction Project Management Board, said that in order to inaugurate on April 30, 2025, the project must be completed 1 month earlier, meaning there are less than 90 days left to complete the project. This is a huge challenge, requiring the relevant units to be more united, to try harder and to be more determined.

More than 43 km from Tan Son Nhat Airport, in Long Thanh District, Dong Nai Province, a series of contractors are busy constructing the Long Thanh Airport Project. Reporting the progress to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh during a recent inspection, ACV said that the component items are still being implemented on schedule, in which some items are faster than the contract such as the passenger terminal, runway, taxiway, and apron.

In addition to the two key projects of the aviation industry, inter-regional expressways such as Ring Road 3, Ho Chi Minh City; Bien Hoa - Vung Tau; Can Tho - Hau Giang - Ca Mau; Cao Lanh - Lo Te; Cao Lanh - An Huu... are also speeding up construction every day to be put into operation in 2025.

In particular, the Ring Road 3 route in Ho Chi Minh City is accelerating construction simultaneously in 4 localities: Long An, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Binh Duong. Regarding the section passing through Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Luong Minh Phuc, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, said that 10 main construction packages are accelerating construction. As of December 2024, the total construction volume reached 24.3% of the construction value. The most difficult problem at the project is the slow site clearance of the section passing through Dong Nai and the lack of sand for roadbed filling.

Another important expressway, the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway Project, is also accelerating construction to complete in 2025. In this project, in Dong Nai province, many sections have not yet completed site clearance, leading to some construction packages being 4-8 months behind schedule. Meanwhile, the section through Ba Ria – Vung Tau province is on track to reach the finish line on April 30, 2025.

A series of projects to be completed by 2025

According to the set schedule, in 2025, a series of expressways in the Southern region will be completed and put into operation. Of which, Ring Road 3, Ho Chi Minh City will complete the expressway section by the end of 2025. Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway, the section through Ba Ria - Vung Tau province will be completed on April 30, 2025, the section through Dong Nai province will be completed by the end of 2025. Another expressway also connecting to Dong Nai is Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway, completed in September 2025.

In the Mekong Delta region, there will be 6 projects completed in 2025, including 4 expressway projects including Can Tho – Hau Giang – Ca Mau; Cao Lanh – Lo Te; Cao Lanh – An Huu; Lo Te – Rach Soi. In addition, two projects will also be completed in 2025: Ho Chi Minh Highway section Rach Soi – Ben Nhat, Go Quao – Vinh Thuan and Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Project.

In the aviation sector, the Tan Son Nhat Airport Terminal 3 Project will be completed on April 30, 2025 (2 months ahead of schedule). For the Long Thanh Airport Project, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh directed that construction be completed before December 31, 2025 and put into operation before February 28, 2026.

According to the Prime Minister's request, contractors must increase machinery, equipment, and construction personnel in the spirit of "working 3 shifts, 4 shifts", "through holidays, Tet, and days off", to speed up construction progress, completing the projects in 2025. In particular, expressway projects must be completed on schedule to achieve the goal of completing 3,000 km of expressway in 2025.
