The meaning of learning in Cao Ngan Thanh Dong land

Mr. Nguyen Huu Hiep - Chairman of the Association for Promotion of Education of Thang Binh district said that Cao Ngan - a land that suffered many bombs and bullets during the war, the people were very resilient and brave in the two wars against France and America.

Here, there was the house of Mrs. Ung Thi Du, which was the place where many revolutionary cadres and soldiers were hidden for underground activities; from this revolutionary base, the provincial and district leaders chose Vuon Vong near Mrs. Du's house to set up the District Party Committee office and Thang Binh medical station. Although imprisoned and brutally tortured by the enemy, Mrs. Ung Thi Du and her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Luu Thi Nhien, remained loyal to the Party, did not reveal anything, and were determined to protect the revolutionary base.

Mrs. Ung Thi Du's house was recognized as a provincial historical relic by the People's Committee of Quang Nam province on November 21, 2005 and is a place to educate revolutionary traditions for many young generations of Thang Binh district.

When the locality organized the launching ceremony for building a model new rural village in July 2017, the district's Association for Promoting Education signed a twinning program with the people of Cao Ngan village.

Over the past 8 years of twinning, the Association has successfully organized many meaningful activities to show gratitude and support local people in construction and development, especially in promoting education and talent.

In the period from 2017 to 2025, the Association has coordinated to mobilize more than 330 million VND to award scholarships to excellent students, students in difficult circumstances and households in the area.

In 2025 alone, the Binh Lanh District and Commune Association for Promotion of Education will award 11 scholarships (worth 3.3 million VND) to students who won prizes at the district and provincial levels and excellent students in the 2024-2025 school year; award 2 gifts (600,000 VND) to policy families and support the village's promotion of education fund with 10 million VND.

"In addition, the Association also coordinated with local authorities to successfully build the 3 no model of "no dropouts, no poverty and no violators of social order and safety", the model has received high consensus among the people and achieved many positive results, encouraging the studious spirit of the entire Cao Ngan village people" - Mr. Nguyen Huu Hiep, Chairman of the Association for Promotion of Education of Thang Binh district happily shared.

The whole village currently has 22 university and college graduates with stable jobs; 100% of the children in the village go to school.

Cao Ngan village has 41 households and 215 people; the village was recognized as a model new rural village in 2022.

Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Ky - Secretary of Cao Ngan village Party cell, Binh Lanh commune affirmed that the spirit of solidarity gained from tradition has helped the locality successfully implement many movements and activities, contributing to the construction and development of the homeland. In particular, the construction of a model new rural village and the "3 no" model has become the driving force to help us overcome all difficulties and strive to achieve many positive results.

"Each family regularly strives to build a cultural family associated with building a cultural clan, a learning clan, with the goal of not having children drop out of school, educating children not to violate the law or commit social evils. The movement of every family studying, everyone studying and lifelong learning is always focused on. In particular, the twinning activities of the Association for the Promotion of Education become a driving force, helping us to be more confident on the path of building and developing Cao Ngan village - the land of bronze walls" - Mr. Ky proudly said.
