Dr. Christopher Nguyen, founder of Aitomatic: "The Vietnamese Government's efforts in promoting AI and semiconductor development are the right direction"
On the morning of March 12, the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Semiconductors (AISC) 2025 - organized by Aitomactic, USA and the National Innovation Center (NIC) - opened in Hanoi. AISC is an important international event on the combination of AI and semiconductors, with the participation of more than 1,000 leaders and expert businesses, including big names such as Google, NVIDIA, IBM, Meta, Intel, TSMC, Samsung, MediaTek, Tokyo Electron, Panasonic, Qorvo, Marvell and technology corporations from Silicon Valley (USA).
In his opening speech, Mr. Vu Quoc Huy, Director of NIC emphasized: "The International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Semiconductors is a forum for academic exchange, an opportunity for Vietnam to affirm its position in the regional technology race. This event will help domestic enterprises orient their development strategies, improve their innovation capacity and promote the sustainable development of the high-tech industry."
Dr. Christopher Nguyen, founder of Aitomatic, shared: “The efforts of the Vietnamese Government in promoting AI and semiconductor development are showing the right direction, in line with the shifting trend of the global technology value chain. The AISC 2025 Conference shows the strong interest of the international community, affirming the attractiveness of Vietnam as a strategic destination in the high-tech field.”
Mr. Vu Quoc Huy, Director of the National Innovation Center (NIC) delivered the opening speech at the event.
At the AISC Conference, SemiKong - an open source AI model - was introduced to the Vietnamese technology community. This pioneering model helps optimize chip production, a collaboration between Aitomatic (USA), Tokyo Electron (Japan) and FPT Software (Vietnam). SemiKong was born in the context of increasing demand for open source AI platforms, playing an important role in improving speed, accuracy and productivity for high-tech manufacturing sectors. The announcement of this platform in Vietnam marks an important step forward in the ability of domestic enterprises to master technology, opening up opportunities for Vietnam to participate more deeply in the global semiconductor manufacturing value chain.
At the end of the opening session, businesses attending AISC participated in the Startup Pavilion - International Shark Tank program, where leading investment funds directly listened to and evaluated innovative ideas. At the event, domestic technology companies were quickly connected with senior leaders, presented projects within a limited time and could reach important agreements right at the conference, participating in the global technology market.
