Superstar Lionel Messi once again made fans mention his name when the player wearing the number 10 shirt scored a double, helping Inter Miami win a dramatic 2-1 right on the field of New England Revolution.

Not only did Messi bring home three valuable points, he also made history in the Major League Soccer (MLS) as the first player to score two or more goals in four consecutive matches.

At Gillette Stadium last night, Messi played the full 90 minutes, touched the ball 71 times and completed an impressive 83% of his passes with one key pass. He completed three successful dribbles and had six shots, two of which were on target. With this brilliant performance, the Inter Miami captain was given a match-high score of 8.8 by Sofascore.

Messi opened the scoring in the 27th minute from a surprising situation. The New England Revolution defender made a mistake with a weak header, which accidentally turned into an assist for Messi to break through. He did not miss the opportunity, unleashing a tricky left-footed shot into the far corner, defeating goalkeeper Aljaz Ivalic.

The second goal came from a clever through ball from Sergio Busquets, Messi broke the offside trap, and finished with his left foot from the edge of the penalty area. The ball flew diagonally, out of reach of goalkeeper Aljaz wearing the number 31 shirt, giving Inter Miami the lead.

With this brace, Messi has scored two or more goals in four consecutive MLS games. No player in MLS history has ever done this before. More remarkably, Inter Miami has won all four games, showing the great influence of the Argentine superstar.

The recent win helped Inter Miami climb to 5th place in the MLS rankings with 35 points, 7 points behind the top team but having played 3 fewer matches.

In terms of personal achievements, Messi has pocketed 20 goals and 7 assists in all competitions this season, including 14 goals and 6 assists in MLS.

Messi and his teammates will continue their journey with a home match at Lockhart Stadium against Nashville at 6:30 a.m. on July 13 (Vietnam time).
