Today, July 10, at Trieu Long Primary and Secondary School, Trieu Long Commune, Trieu Phong District (Quang Tri Province), Medipeace Organization coordinated with volunteers from Korea to organize the "Healing" Program 2024 with many meaningful activities to increase social accessibility for children with disabilities and their families.

Participating in the program, disabled children and their families are consulted, instructed, and communicated about oral hygiene; get free haircuts, exchange, learn, and enjoy Korean street food and music; draw pictures, and organize group games...
Bringing her mentally disabled 7th grade son to participate in the program, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ut in Bich Khe village, Trieu Long commune shared that this is like a special playground, meaningful for disabled children like my son. Coming here, my son was guided to play games, draw pictures, brush his teeth... I feel that thanks to that, he is more bold and confident.

The 2024 “Healing” program was organized by Medipeace from July 9-12 in Hai Lang, Trieu Phong, and Gio Linh districts. Thereby, it aims to raise social awareness in caring for and providing better care for children with disabilities. In particular, this program aims to support children with disabilities and their families who, due to physical, mental and other limitations, cannot participate in the series of activities at the 2024 Peace Festival.

Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Nhung, an officer of Medipeace Organization, said that Medipeace is a non-governmental organization operating mainly in the health sector in many countries around the world. Medipeace has been operating in Vietnam since 2012 with activities focusing on supporting disabled children and their families.
In Quang Tri province alone, Medipeace has projects related to supporting rehabilitation for children with disabilities; improving the capacity of health workers in rehabilitation; providing mental health care for young mothers with disabilities; enhancing access to education for students with disabilities...

According to Ms. Thuy Nhung, the “Healing” Program this time will support about 250 disabled children and their parents. In each locality, there are 44 Korean volunteers of different ages and professions participating in coordination with the village medical team and Vietnamese volunteers to carry out the activities.
