September Pension: Latest Payment Schedule Due to Holidays

Vietnam Social Security said that based on Decision 166/QD-BHXH, pensions and benefits for September will be paid from September 3 due to the National Day holiday, instead of September 2 as usual.

According to the regulations of Vietnam Social Security, pensions and social insurance benefits are transferred directly to personal accounts on the 2nd of each month. In case the 2nd falls on a holiday, the payment schedule will start from the first working day following the holiday.

Monthly pensions and social insurance benefits are paid in two forms. With the transfer form, beneficiaries will receive money no later than the 5th of each month.

In cash form, the payment agency will make payments from day 2 to day 10 at fixed payment points, at least 6 hours per day.

If the list has been resolved, the payment may end early before the 10th. From the 11th to the 25th, the payment continues at the transaction points of the district-level payment service organization. However, this schedule may change depending on the actual conditions in each locality.

Pensioners should note the regulations on changing the form or place of receipt. When wishing, a written request must be sent to the Social Insurance agency where the payment is being made. Within 5 working days, this agency must resolve or respond in writing if it cannot be implemented.

Cases of illegal exit, being declared missing or having unverified information will have payment suspended; it will be terminated when the beneficiary passes away, is declared dead or is found to have received benefits in violation of regulations.

In case the beneficiary returns or the decision to be missing is revoked, the regime will be restored from the time the Social Insurance agency receives the request to continue payment.

If the beneficiary dies before receiving the outstanding pension, the relatives will receive the unpaid portion, excluding the period that has been suspended according to the legal decision.

According to Vietnam Social Security, about 3.4 million people received pensions and social insurance benefits in September via bank transfer or cash. In addition, beneficiaries are also paid at home in case of old age, loneliness, illness, and cannot come to receive directly.

In Hanoi, the Hanoi Social Insurance will pay about VND4,096 billion to more than 595,000 beneficiaries (over 99.4%) via personal accounts. This agency will also pay over VND43.6 billion in cash to more than 3,400 other beneficiaries.
