Immediately after arriving in Naypyitaw, the Head of the Vietnamese rescue team had a quick meeting with representatives of the Fire Prevention and Fighting Department, Ministry of Home Affairs of Myanmar - responsible for directing the rescue and relief position of Vietnam and Mr. He U Kyaw Soe Win, Minister of Tourism and Hotels of Myanmar.
This is information sent back from Myanmar by a reporter from Vietnam National Defense Television who is on a mission with the Vietnamese rescue team.
The two sides agreed on the operations, content, methods and ways to organize search and rescue.
After arriving at Yangon International Airport on the evening of March 30, the Vietnamese rescue team participating in supporting earthquake relief in Myanmar traveled by car nearly 500km to reach the capital Naypyitaw at 3:00 a.m. on March 31.
The delegation quickly settled down, organized field reconnaissance forces, determined and organized the task of searching for the victims.
It is expected that the Vietnam People's Army delegation will be divided into 3 groups, coordinating with the Ministry of Public Security delegation to follow 3 search directions as quickly as possible.
After the discussion, the Vietnam Rescue Force sent 10 officers and soldiers from the Army and Police, including deputy head of the delegation and team leaders of the search teams to conduct field reconnaissance.
After understanding the specific situation of the area and the number of suspected victims still trapped, the rescue team will continue to send a team of engineers to rescue the collapsed structure, using a wall-penetrating radar detection system and image and sound search equipment to accurately determine the location of the victims.
The Army delegation is also ready to send 30 officers from the Military Medical Force to establish a small-scale treatment team, capable of performing both medical and surgical first aid to serve the victims, as well as the people in the area.
The delegation also presented 30 tons of dry food to Myanmar representatives to support earthquake victims.
Immediately after the exchange, the working group moved to the search scene, 25km away.
