On August 16, news from the Office of the People's Committee of An Giang province said that Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of this province, signed a decision to issue a framework for the 2025-2026 school year schedule for preschool education , continuing education and general education.

Accordingly, students in An Giang province will return to school on August 29; students in grades 1, 9, and 12 will return to school on August 22. The decision also stipulates that the opening day of schools will be September 5.

Semester 1 of the 2025-2026 school year ends before January 18, 2026. The 2025-2026 school year ends before May 31, 2026. Specifically, the school year must have 35 actual study weeks, including semester 1 with 18 weeks (from September 8, 2025 to January 10, 2026) and semester 2 with 17 weeks (from January 12, 2026 to May 23, 2026).

In case of severe weather, natural disasters, or sudden epidemics, leaders of units and schools shall report to local authorities and the Department of Education and Training to allow students to take time off from school. In special cases, the Department of Education and Training shall compile a report to the An Giang Provincial People's Committee and report to the Ministry of Education and Training for direction and implementation.
