Today, January 2, Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Le Nguyen Hong confirmed that Quang Tri province did not propose to support rice for hunger relief during the Lunar New Year - 2025.

According to Mr. Hong, on December 25, 2024, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs requested Quang Tri province to review and propose rice support for the Lunar New Year and the early 2025 crop gap. After reviewing, districts, towns and cities in the province reported that there were no hungry households; in case there were hungry households or households at risk of hunger, localities will proactively provide support.

For the second time, Quang Tri province did not propose the Government to support rice for hunger relief during Tet holiday.

This is the second time Quang Tri province has not proposed rice support for hunger relief during the Lunar New Year.

Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong said that although there are still many difficulties, by mobilizing many resources and calling for socialization, Quang Tri province will try its best to take care of people to have a happy and safe Lunar New Year.

Previously, on December 25, 2024, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province issued a plan to implement a program to stabilize the market of essential goods at the end of 2024 and the Lunar New Year. The group of goods that need to be stabilized include rice, pork, poultry, poultry eggs, cooking oil, sugar, MSG, vegetables, fruits, jams, nuts such as melon seeds, pumpkin seeds, chestnuts, confectionery, soft drinks and some other items. Thereby ensuring adequate supply of essential goods for people to celebrate Tet at reasonable prices.
