In the 2025 admission season, Hanoi University of Science and Technology continues to be assigned by the Ministry of Education and Training to chair the Northern admission group (including 65 higher education institutions). The admission process (virtual filtering) aims to ensure that each candidate will only be admitted to a maximum of 1 wish (NV) in the list of NV candidates registered according to the principle of considering from NV1 to the last NV.
According to the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training, universities nationwide will begin announcing the first round of admission scores from 5:00 p.m. on August 20, with the deadline for announcement being before 5:00 p.m. on August 22. Before the announcement, from August 17 to 20, the Ministry's general admission system will conduct virtual filtering 6 times. This is a process to ensure that each candidate is only admitted to a maximum of one wish, thereby limiting the situation of "virtual admission" and helping schools implement their admission plans conveniently and accurately.
Associate Professor Vu Duy Hai - Head of Admissions and Career Guidance Department, Hanoi University of Science and Technology said that, from a technical perspective, virtual filtering is like a "test" for the information technology system of Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Huge data is transmitted continuously in a short time, requiring stable infrastructure and strict backup and comparison processes. Along with that are backup scenarios for many unexpected situations.
A notable new point in this year's admission season is the regulation requiring schools to publish the conversion table of equivalent admission scores between admission methods. This is to ensure consistency, objectivity and fairness for all candidates. If any unit has not published the conversion table, it will not be possible to download admission data from the system.
In addition, the Ministry also requires schools to review secondary criteria and analyze enrollment data from previous years to determine appropriate virtual rates, ensuring that the number of admitted candidates does not exceed the approved quota.
According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, schools will announce the benchmark scores and notify the first round of successful candidates before 5:00 p.m. on August 22. Many schools said they will announce the benchmark scores on August 20-22, such as Hanoi University of Science and Technology; Hanoi University of Industry; Banking Academy; Hanoi University;...
