Implementing the activities of Project 8 "Implementing gender equality and solving urgent issues for women and children", Yen Lap District Women's Union coordinated with the Provincial Women's Union and the Provincial Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital to organize a program of medical examination, health consultation, and free medicine provision for women and children in ethnic minority areas in 2024 in Dong Lac commune.
Staff, doctors and nurses of the Provincial Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital examined and consulted on some common diseases for women and children of ethnic minorities in Dong Lac commune, Yen Lap district.
At the program, 40 women members and 60 children from ethnic minorities with difficult circumstances in Dong Lac commune were examined and consulted by officers, doctors and nurses of the Provincial Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital on some common diseases in internal medicine, surgery, respiratory medicine, blood pressure, general abdominal ultrasound... At the same time, free medicine was provided with a total program value of over 20 million VND. In addition, people were also given nutritional advice and advice on preventing some common diseases in children in winter.
60 ethnic minority children received nutrition counseling and free medicine.
This is a practical activity implemented by the Provincial Women's Union at all levels to take care of the health of women and children in difficult circumstances in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the province.
