Instructions for handling barns and livestock areas after being infected with African swine fever

African swine fever is a dangerous infectious disease that can spread rapidly and cause serious damage to the livestock industry.

The virus can survive in the barn environment for several weeks to several months. If not properly disinfected and sterilized, there is a potential risk of the disease recurring. Accordingly, for households with sick pigs after the entire herd has been destroyed, it is necessary to strictly implement the cleaning and disinfection process of the entire barn, equipment and surrounding areas for 1 month. Strictly implementing this process helps limit the risk of disease recurrence and creates safe conditions for herd restoration.
