On the morning of October 9, the Ministry of Information and Communications coordinated with the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Hanoi People's Committee and the Vietnam Publishing Association to organize a book exhibition to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024).

For the past 70 years, October 10th has been a true festival of the thousand-year-old capital, and every Vietnamese person at home and abroad is always proud of their country. Those working in publishing, printing and distribution also have double the joy when October 10th is the traditional day of the industry.

Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Lam affirmed: The book exhibition to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital is a meaningful activity, aiming to highlight the significance and great historical value of the Liberation of the Capital; educate revolutionary traditions, patriotism, the strength of national solidarity, national pride and pride in the thousand-year-old civilized and heroic Capital.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Lam said that the documents, books and photos displayed at the exhibition will be presented in digital format using modern technology, aiming to spread the great value of books not only within the exhibition but also in cyberspace.

“Through models, books and photos displayed, elaborately arranged and shown on modern digital platforms, the exhibition will be an important highlight, an attractive reading culture space contributing to creating deep and good impressions on the great holiday of the capital Hanoi”, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Lam affirmed.

At the exhibition, the National Library of Vietnam together with publishers and distributors introduced more than 500 rare documents and 2,850 valuable books and book series by domestic and foreign authors. Among them, there are 205 book titles about Hanoi with its thousand years of culture and the historical milestone of the Liberation of the Capital, such as: The 1000-year Thang Long Bookcase by Hanoi Publishing House; Hanoi's Delicious Dishes by Vu Bang; Luy Hoa by Nguyen Huy Tuong; Hanoi 36 Streets by Thach Lam; and Hanoi's Old Stories by To Hoai...

During the exhibition, Thai Nguyen University Publishing House will bring a special cultural program of ethnic groups in Viet Bac - the Capital of Thousand Winds; Hanoi Publishing House will introduce to readers a book about the thousand-year history of Thang Long - Hanoi ; Information and Communication Publishing House will hold a discussion to introduce the book Summary of Digital Transformation - Strategy and Roadmap on National Digital Transformation Day (October 10)...
