During the talks, the two leaders discussed the situation of each Party and each country, the relationship between the two Parties and countries, and regional and international issues of mutual concern. Both sides agreed that the relationship between the two Parties and countries has recently made many remarkable developments in the direction of “6 more”, with close strategic exchanges at high and all levels, and substantial cooperation in many areas having made much progress.

General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping expressed his joy at revisiting Vietnam - a "brotherly comrade" country - after just over a year.
He said that choosing Vietnam as the first destination on his first overseas trip this year fully demonstrated the high regard the Chinese Party and State attaches to the China-Vietnam relationship and the deep affection between the two countries.
General Secretary To Lam affirmed that Vietnam always considers developing relations with China an objective requirement, a strategic choice and a top priority in its overall foreign policy.
After the high-level talks, General Secretary To Lam and General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping witnessed the display of cooperation documents between the two countries.
Also on the afternoon of April 14, at the Party Central Committee headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping.
The Prime Minister gave an overview of Vietnam's socio-economic development, especially the persistent implementation of the "three strategic breakthroughs" and the deployment of the "strategic quartet" including breakthroughs in science and technology development; implementing the revolution in streamlining the organizational apparatus; developing the private economic sector and building an independent and self-reliant economy associated with deep international integration.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hopes that both sides will improve the quality and effectiveness of substantive cooperation, with high priority given to railway cooperation, especially in terms of credit, technology transfer and human resource training.
The two sides will soon sign an ODA loan agreement to promptly start construction of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong route in 2025, followed by the Dong Dang - Hanoi and Mong Cai - Ha Long - Hai Phong railway routes.
